The pay-app package: one file, every page the right way up
The pay-application package is two documents that don't share a page shape. The application and continuation sheet are landscape. The statutory conditional waiver is a portrait form. On paper you'd staple them together and nobody would think twice. On screen the package page had to pick one, so it picked landscape and squeezed the waiver into a column. It read, but it didn't look like the waiver the GC expects, and once a waiver was signed the page couldn't show the signed one at all — it could only re-draw the blank form.
Download PDF on the package now builds the file the way you'd staple it. Each document is rendered on its own, at its own page size, and the pages are joined into one PDF. The application is landscape. The waiver is portrait. If the waiver has been signed through the workspace, the signed PDF on file is what goes in — not a re-render of the unsigned form.
A few notes:
- It never ships short quietly. If a document can't be included — there's no conditional waiver for this application yet, or the signed file couldn't be fetched — the package ends with a page that says so, and why. You'll know before the GC does.
- The page on screen is unchanged. Print still prints what you see. Download PDF is the one that assembles.
- The filename says which application it is, so the attachment reads right in an email.
