Attach the check to the payment

When a check comes in, the proof goes where the payment is.

  • Backup on every payment. Record Payment has a file field. Snap the front and back of the check, drop in the remittance PDF or the ACH receipt — JPG, PNG, HEIC straight off a phone, or PDF, up to 10 MB each, as many as the payment needs.
  • Open it from the trail. In Billing → All AR, open an invoice and each payment in the trail lists its files. Click one to open it.
  • Small-job payments are real payments now. Recording a payment on a simple invoice used to just bump the paid total. Now it keeps the received date, the method and the check or wire number, the same as a pay app — so the backup has somewhere to live, and the history reads like a ledger. Payments recorded before today stay in the total without a line of their own.
  • Private by design. Checks carry bank account numbers, so these files stay out of Files, out of document search, and away from anything AI reads. They open only by a link that expires in a minute.
